The Bessarabian fabulist poet has a wonderful house in the village that bears his name, located in Orhei. The museum house proves to have a long history - from his childhood to the creation of the classic Moldovan literature. The museum is located in a well-arranged area, with a beautiful park, a pool and, of course, the monument of the writer.

DESCRIPTION

Distance from Chișinău: 72 km   Since the 1977 year, when the museum house of “Alexandru Donici” has opened its doors, it proudly guests about 20 thousand tourists annually, according to the directress of the house. Alexandru Donici was a poet and a fabulist of Romanian-Bessarabian origins. He lived in this same village, Donici, named in his honor. Before getting the name of the poet, the village was known as Bezin. Being both a translator and a literature lover, he was deeply inspired by the fables of La Fontaine and Krilov. He has often joined cultural initiatives related to the development of public education, periodical press, and national theater. His creation was highly appreciated by Mihail Kogalniceanu, Grigore Alexandrescu, Vasile Alecsandri and other contemporaries. M.Eminescu ranked him among the writers who “have connected the individual talent with the genius of the people ...”, calling him, in the poem “Epigonii” – “Donici-nest of wisdom”.  He pleased us with his presence and great creations in the period of 1806-1865. Now, the museum illustrates the history of the whole classic Moldovan literature. The CASA MARE team invites you to review the symbol elements in the house of the cultural person - Alexandru Donici.
