DESCRIPTION

Distance from Chișinău: 76 km In Palanca we will find a welcoming home that will open the gates of Moldovan traditions. The complex is a perfect universe of traditions, where you can enjoy traditional food and delicious wine. The Crafts Museum was created in November 2000. The parents and grand-parents of the present owner, Mrs. Tatiana Popa, lived here for only three years. Their house was taken by the Soviet authorities after Tatiana Popa’s father was deported. After years of searching for truth and trying hard to return the parental home, she achieved success. When receiving the house, she transformed it into a museum, where different rare items, clothing items that belonged to the family, furniture and others are kept together with the vestiges of the past. Besides the museum, the owner initiated a Pension, where her parent’s home was figuring earlier. The tourists have the unique opportunity to try the traditional Moldovan craft machines –the Guide that will show you the folk crafts will take care of this. For example, you can see the carpet manufacturing technology in process. The museum house has 4 rooms. The interior decor is typical for rural areas. The furniture is antique, made from wood. Here you can also see different elements that refer to the traditional Moldovan carpet. Among its variations you will find unusual carpets that have a curative effect and a very complicated weaving technique. Appeared in 18-19 centuries, the tradition of weaving such carpets has soon disappeared, but was brought back by the skilled master Tatiana Popa. She now conquers the hearts of admirers of handicrafts from all over the world. Such carpets are made and presented today at the Museum "Casa Părintească". On holidays, folk shows are organized here, and the local traditional cuisine is serving different delicious dishes, all these being accompanied by a special route for guests. Among the most important events organized by the head of museum we can notice: the Festival of winter holidays in January; the Sales Festival on 2nd of August; the Ethnic Festival organized each on 3rd  Sunday of  September and many others. Only at the “Casa Părintească” Pension , you have the marvelous occasion to look back at the life of ancestors and admire the restored homesteads, natural aesthetic surroundings and many historical and religious monuments – only with the CASA MARE team!
