The architectural style of the buiding and the Manor park, which is one of the oldest parks from Moldova, are constantly attracting the tourists. This property occupies a dominant position over the village and the surrounding countryside.

Estimated time : 1 hour

The building will capture visitors’ attention with its unique architectural style from the year of 1852, being built by the administrator and groom of Manuc Bei – the Armenian nobleman Carabet Balioz. In 1941, the descendants of Balioz fled across the Prut river, and the local administration decided to change the mansion into a military hospital, warehouse, mill, library, and use it for many other purposes. In 1975, the mansion was taken under state protection, and in 1984 the complex was transformed into the Museum of Folk Handicrafts, a branch of the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History.

The exhibition of the museum is based on a thematic principle and is identified on an area of 400 square meters. The exhibition is also based on authentic samples of the XIX – XX centuries : pottery, wood crafting, metal crafting, stone and leather crafting, weaving of carpets and cloths, costumes, embroidery and crocheting, plant fiber braiding and folk instruments manufacturing. The mansion’s territory includes a park of 7 hectares, with chestnut trees, pines, lime trees and exotic plants of Moldova. The Manor Park is one of the oldest parks in Moldova. Its composition includes both plantations and minor architectural structures - artificial hills, fountains. The property includes rare plants from different countries : Crimean Boxwood, Chinese plants, Siberian Chedr, ginkgo tree (called the Tree of Happiness). In the park, close to the decorative groves, there are fruit trees - a wonderful orchard that is located behind the mansion, and occupies a little less than half of the territory. One part of the house is decorated with an alley of chestnuts, the other - with a vivid view of a Chinese treasury.

This lovely park, full of romantic places, was settled almost 130 years ago. In 2006, the “House of Wine” LLC began a project in order to restore the mansion. Today the mansion is in the process of restoration, as the land and its annexes are not finished yet. We invite you to travel together with our team, in order to see the historical mansion and admire its exotic plants diversity. We assure you that the mansion’s unusual appearance will impress you.
